For context: I’m an HCA in WA and I work with an agency.
I wrote and submitted a time off request a couple weeks ago, and after that I got a GC text from them saying “if I haven’t acknowledged your time off request, it is not approved.” Then followed by the reason is due to short staffing.
My vacation is in October for 2 weeks. it’s been almost a month and still haven’t heard anything from my manager about my request. They also have a history of never getting back to people and clients and ignoring texts and phone calls.
Can they do this? Ignore time off requests? Should I bug them again? I really don’t want to quit this job because I’m finally making some decent money. I know it’s also really early, I gave plenty of notice, but they seem to be doing this to everyone. I know we are short staffed and cannot grant everyone vacation. I’m just worried I haven’t heard anything and I feel they’re going to ignore it until the day of.
