I work in a factory, making plastic bags for food related items. Its a means to an end and ever since my buddy quit I have been steadily looking for new options. The constant push to be as efficient as possible, no trust in the team and constant shifting of plans is weighing me down, im just streched thin
We are a very small, tight knit team of workers on the factory floor with a burning hatred for our manager. Yesterday I finally got greenlit to start my new educationprogram (social work). To celebrate I handed in my resignation (20 minutes before my boss left for vacation) and we agreed that i would stay until the end of august to help train my boss and manager. No issue. This morning my coworker walks up to me and tells me he really liked the idea of going back to school and he found a work-study program as well and is gonna hand in his resignation tomorrow. Other coworker joins in and says that if we leave, he leaves as well. Thats our whole factory team gone.
So now we all have resigned, my boss is on vacation, my mangers all go tomorrow. And they all return in our last week there. We are all skilled workers who work with one of a kind machines that take at minimum 1.5 years to learn let alone master. My boss still doesnt see any issues what so ever. This will be interesting.
