Sigh…so last Thursday I had a 15 min phone
call with a company who seemed really
interested in me. They said, get a cover letter
for Monday, we'll interview you next week.
The guy said he “truly thought” I would be a
good fit in his email. I was like okay, I'll do
one better with the cover letter: I'll send it in
Friday morning. So he never responds to my
cover letter, and Friday afternoon he sends me a bunch of info. I ask if I need to tweak my
cover letter. No response.
Monday comes and goes. No response.
Tuesday comes and goes. No response.
Finally today I email him to follow up and
make sure my cover letter is okay. So at this
point, I've sent three emails. He writes an
extremely brief: “We're moving forward with
another candidate” like 8 minutes after I sent
my email (now you can respond fast, I
guess??).
I politely said thank you for letting me know
and asked for feedback, but I'm seriously so
annoyed by that. Like, what did I do wrong??
And were you just planning to ghost me
forever if I didn't email a THIRD time??
I also had a 15-20 minute phone call scheduled with a recruiter yesterday who never called. I followed up with them today and I’m waiting to hear back. Are they done with me too?? I’m so frustrated, these were the first jobs that have been interested in me after literal months of searching. I even told my Mom I finally had two companies interested in me even though I try not to share stuff like that til I actually get hired for exactly this reason.
