She had let them know voluntarily about her depression before starting work there and was “let go” for asking to have 1-2 days a month off for flare ups during a meeting with HR an hour ago. Employer just said yeah we can’t do that and that was essentially all even though she presented a doctors note stating she may need 1-2 days/week. This has to be grossly illegal and I’m just wondering if there’s anything we can do to combat it? Should we try to find an employment attorney? Feeling a lot of emotions right now and appreciate any advice.
This happened in Washington state btw at a small home healthcare organization with just under 100 employees.
