Go get what you’re worth

I started a new position back in August. And apparently, I'm awesome and have done more in 6 months than the last person did in 4 years. I got a call from from a previous supervisor I worked with with an offer. More pay, benefits, 80% less commute. I just told my current employer that I'm going to take the offer. I started a new position back in August. And apparently, I'm awesome and have done more in 6 months than the last person did in 4 years.

I got a call from from a previous supervisor I worked with with an offer. More pay, benefits, 80% less commute.

I just told my current employer that I'm going to take the offer.

He's scrambling to see if he can match it. I actually feel bad. I don't hate working here. The 100+ miles and tolls everyday, I hate. But the people who work here are great. Plus with selection of candidates available, he might not be able to find someone and get them trained in 3-weeks. My job is not simple and took me a month to start cooking with fire.

Everyone always tells me I'm amazing and I should get what I'm worth, but confidence issues and nearly being starving and homeless for a spell makes me grateful that I have job.

It's the first time in my professional career someone is fighting to keep me. Maybe finally I'm finally getting what I'm worth.
