So, Taco Bell. I asked a coworker how much I should expect for my first check, coworker asked how much I made. (I couldn’t remember exactly what the manager had told me like 3 days ago) I gave the wrong amount and told him I’m pretty sure that’s not right though. Coworker decided to get pissy and complains it’s more than he makes so he throws a fit for two days constantly complaining loudly telling all other coworkers. I continue to tell him, and other coworkers that can’t be right, I need to check and make sure how much I’m making. And nobody would listen to me.
Today, GM overheard him and BERATES me so mad he has shaking hands and almost fired me, and told me that if he hears anything about me discussing my pay he will fire me.
My question is ;
I’m protected by law, it being my right to disclose my pay PERIOD with my coworkers am I not?
