Got an email “gently” reprimanding me for using a casual tone with my staff leader

I’ve been on PTO due to COVID but had a lot of active projects running and a coworker who is less than adept at her job. So I’ve been watching my email and forwarding messages to my staff leader that are urgent. These emails have been short with an “FYI, please see attachment” or “for the upcoming meeting, hope it helps.” No signature line or thought put into them because again, I’m on PTO and doing this as a courtesy so that my division isn’t on fire when I return on Monday. Got an email from HIS BOSS letting me know that my staff leader deserves a thorough response with introduction, body, conclusion, and signature line. Well that teaches me to try to be nice. Next time I’ll refuse to answer until I am being paid to do so. Thoroughly.
