Got fired, no reason, no warnings, NDA

Just thought I'd share with this sub This happened 2 weeks before Christmas. I'll start out by saying, I was the lead builder/ shop manager for a custom vehicle shop. Owner was aloof and wanted me to do his job, so he could play with his dog and bang Instagram hoes. I'm not a metrics/ spreadsheet/ paperwork kind of guy. I build cool shit and make sure 12 other people are too. Nobody is doing POL, reports, paperwork, billing, etc. Anyways, I'd told him for 2.5 years he needs a GM to handle all that shit so I can focus on builds. This happened 2 weeks before Christmas.

He finally hires someone, a dealership service manager. 4 days later, GM fires several people. Myself included. They couldn't give me a reason except that “they could hire 2 people for what they pay me”. I go to collect my toolboxes in a uhaul (my personal truck is broken) and after all my shit is loaded up, they hide in the office and send an employee out with a paper in hand. He attempts to have me sign a NDA with industry non-compete clause. I laugh so loud that they could hear me in the office and just leave. Never looked back. They texted me a week later and offered to pay me my 3 days of pto if I sign the NDA. I replied “no thank you”. It's not what I wanted to say but oh well.

Another employee that I was friendly with told me that the GM overpaid himself to the tune of $25k and quit. Fuck em.
