Got laid off after 10 days at my new job

So the company I formerly worked for announced that they were shutting down. I still had resources to keep myself afloat for a while, but I obviously started looking for a new job immediately in the hopes that something good would come up. Well, 3 months later, something very good came up. A job that paid $20,000 more than what I currently made, great benefits, PTO, and in a great area. I interviewed and got hired the same day. I signed a lease on a new apartment and packed up my whole life in just a couple of weeks. I had to move across the state over a weekend just so I could start the very day they wanted me to. I began my job and everything seemed to be going very good, training was coming on naturally, the people were nice, etc. I just came in this morning and…

I just came in this morning and they announced the entire place was shutting down, no notice or anything, just get out. Only 15 people were allowed to stay, out of the over a hundred workers. It’s 10 days after I started and I have no job. And because I was contract for my first 3 months, WARN doesn’t apply to me. I only get paid the 1 day this week I worked and then I have no income. I still have some money left from when I was laid off the first time but that is gonna run out sooner rather than later.

I’m not sure if I’m looking for advice, or just to rant, I just feel so screwed over and disappointed. Especially since this is the second time I got laid off this year and its only May. I’m mad at myself for taking this new job, but nothing from my research of the company, to the times I interviewed, to the few days I was there indicated that the company was doing so bad financially. I mean, they were hiring so many new people! I applied for more jobs but I have a feeling I won’t get an opportunity as good as what this company was promising. Ugh.
