So 3 weeks ago, I left my full time job to join a company. From the get go, they wouldnt even give me more than 8 hours as the first day after 7 hours, they told everyone to go home. The next day, I was scheduled for 6. The following for 5, and so forth. It became clear that if we weren't working the entire time we were there, they wouldn't want to pay us, which is why they cut the hours and told my coworkers and I to come In at specific times that they knew would have work e.g. come in at 5 PM – 10 PM instead of 2PM – 10PM. Of course we werent going to be paid for 8 hours while only being their for five hours. Due to this, i was able to work 11 hours instead of the 40 we were promised and signed into contract. Feeling like something was off, and that I was getting scammed of my hours, I asked for a copy of my contract last week friday. Today, out of nowhere, they let me go. It gets worse, I have been preapproved for a mortgage loan, and escrow etc. that has a high chance of falling through because i no longer have a full time position. I was thinking about suing them for in essence lying to me and making me leave my secure job for this pile of dump. My other coworkers that havent been laid off yet have told me they'd have my back if I did end up suing, however, i dont know exactly how to go about this.
tl;dr quit my secure full time job for another place that never gave me a full 8 hour day 40 hour work week and then got fired/laid off within a month of leaving my old work place. Cant get a house anymore unless I quickly find another job in the same field making more or less the same amount of money.
