I work IT and am branching into cybersecurity stuff with freelance style work for experience and getting the right certs for a proper job. Normally I am in the office 8-4 everyday and then do full time schooling online to finish my degree. But when I’m not feeling good, I am allowed to WFH and do my tasks that way.
Little do they know, that I always have a backlog of menial tasks available and I wrote a couple scripts that automate the work. So when I WFH I log in to all my systems and attend whatever meetings I have and once those are done, I set off the scripts and go back to sleep for a bit. Wake up feeling refreshed and reset scripts or change what they’re doing or something along those lines. Then I go and focus on my security stuff.
I’ve been doing this for quite some time and get commended for all my hard work even when under the weather and working from home, but they just paid me to sleep while scripts I wrote do it for me. I love computer science.
