I am not actively looking for jobs but I have seen a job which I wanted to apply for keeping my interview skills in tact. The first interview was scheduled. The HR person did not show up without any notice. I said okay no big deal as I am not looking for a job. The HR person did reschedule the meeting.
The meeting day came and I started interviewing. I was asked to introduce myself and talk about my past experiences. Then I did proceed with asking questions to gain more info about the role. All I heard was “I am not technical enough to answer this question” from HR person. Okay then I asked very basic question “what are you planning to do on platform x in near future?” (The role was engineering role on platform x) He answered like “We are willing to setup platform x soon” He asked my salary expectation and I told him. I got rejection email today
I don't understand why I got rejected because I was just introducing myself. Maybe my salary expectation was not met with their budget. If you interview a person and can't provide details of the role because you are not technical, you should not waste time of people.
