So, the place I work at has a limit on how many days you can call in sick per promotional period. I've got a chronic illness (Hashimotos Thyroiditis) that one of the many effects – and the most painful, in my experience – is severe joint pain. Most days its bearable, But as of a few days ago I got suspended….for calling in sick……when I couldnt get off my fucking bed without letting out a sob of pain. I work a physically demanding job, since fuck knows no non-physically demanding job won't hire someone without a college degree today. Seriously though, i'm so fucking sick of this. I've deadass had my back pain get worse working it, And its STILL one of the best jobs I could get, given how shit is. Hell, when I explained this to my Boss, he said “You're too young to have back pain” Like, WTF? Fucking hate this shitty ass work-obsessed culture we have where you have to sacrifice your own physical and mental health just to work.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just pissed off.
