Govt. of Alberta threatens to cut funding to online university if they don’t reduce their remote workforce

The government of Alberta is trying to force more than 600 remote workers living all across Canada to move to the small town of Athabasca, AB – or they are going to cut funding to Athabasca University. The university is fully online and has no students on their campus, so there is absolutely no need for most of their workers to actually live in Athabasca. This would just disrupt their employees' lives for no benefit to them or the university. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/province-threatens-funding-cuts-to-athabasca-university-over-virtual-campus-plan-1.6539085
