Grocery store misogyny

Not sure if this fits but super upset about this situation. While checking out today a woman, (checker/Randall’s employee) who was helping check out an irrational man, was left to deal with this man as managers watched and laughed. These mangers were less than 5 feet away. They were fully within ear shot. After the whole ordeal was done, making several comments to the irate man, and was finished checking out myself, I made a comment to the 3 managers standing, watching the situation. They began to placate my concerns as though they actual did something about the situation. They grinned at me as if my concern was not important. My husband stepped in and received a different answer. “Yes, we’re doing something now” -manager to my husband. Randall’s management did not help this amazing employee, who kept her cool, even though she was being berated by a mean spirited man. I am even more disgusted that they would attempt to tell me, someone who watched the entire situation, that nothing was wrong. It wasn’t until my husband said something that they decided they would take action. I know that the grocery business is rampant with misogyny (my own work experience in the industry), but I would hope that it would not be on full display and directed at a customer. So sad that I’m even writing about this experience. Grocery works should rise up and demand a better work environment.
