I work in a service department, focusing on butchering meat. I am extremely new, with little to no experience in the field.
During my training, my boss got frustrated with the minor mistakes I had been making, and decided to lob a 3lb product around 6 feet through the air at me whilst cursing. I barely caught it rather than letting it strike me, the table or the massive knife I had just been using a few seconds prior and potentially causing a serious injury.
What is my recourse if the boss above mine chooses to softball/not proceed with anything to prevent this happening again? What should I do if I become the target of retaliation for reporting this, given my company has a policy against retaliation?
Thank you for your time/reading this.
