Had Covid last Saturday. Quarantined for 10 days. Returned to work with no one having done any of my job.

Nine days ago I had a fever of 102, had a positive home test for coronavirus, called employee health and they told me I had to quarantine for eight days. Had a negative test yesterday and I’m back in the office. What did I return to today? A minimum of 80 hours of office work that wasn’t completed by anyone while I was gone. I had fallen a bit behind in my work, but before I got sick I was planning on being caught up again by today. Now I’m 2 weeks behind, I missed a week of pay (out of sick pay cause of kids being sick earlier), and all for a job that barely covers rent. The worst part? My boss, and 4 OTHER EMPLOYEES are all qualified to do my job. But nope. It’s just all fallen on me. If I work at my fastest possible speed,…

If I work at my fastest possible speed, it will take me 5 weeks to get to the point where I am doing ‘yesterday’s work today.’

It doesn’t really make me want to stay. But it pays better than anything else I or my wife can currently get.
