Had to call out for a funeral now corporate wants to talk abt me missing work…

RANTING: I started my job in January (it’s part time and it doesn’t pay all that great considering the tolls it takes when commuting). Anyway I’ve had to call out once in January due to my car breaking down and needing to it fixed at a shop. Then once in the beginning of the month because I had a terrible stomach virus (cramping and throwing up for two days straight). It’s now March and I have an unexpected funeral I have to attend in a different state. Reached out to our assistant manager and told her I got a call regarding my grandfather’s passing and that I won’t be able to make it into work (it’s out of state and I’m the only one who can really help translate for my family). Next thing I know I get an email from the lady in corporate who hired me saying “I’m…

Next thing I know I get an email from the lady in corporate who hired me saying “I’m at home with COVID but need to speak with you about your upcoming absences. Please call me.”
I’m literally going to a funeral… how can you be pissed about things you straight up can’t help help? How is that my fault for having to call out?
