Did you know, today is the international worker's day? Here in Argentina it's a non working day.
The incident that is commemorated happened in Chicago, USA, where there was a general strike, demanding a 8 hour working day.
Police started to disperse the workers, there was retaliation from the workers and police fired at them, resulting in the Haymarket affair massacre.
For us Argentinians it's very weird that we have a free day every may 1st, but USA workers go to work and, correct me if I'm wrong but, they don't even think about the incident.
Anyway I'm very happy that I'm seeing will to change the system in this subreddit, even if it will take time, something's brewing and a change of mind is happening gradually. For example I'm happy to see workers starting to unionize in the USA.
Have a nice day and enjoy your day!!
