Have a promotion! Or, actually, you know what, just take the extra duties.

I'm an AP Processor Intermediate. My whole team thinks I should be senior level, based on my skill level. Including Leaving (Sr) coworker and Partnering on big project (Sr) coworker. The big project is long term, never going to end, and needs to be headed by a senior level processor. For reasons?? Partnering coworker thinks I'm a better fit and wants me to head it. Leaving understands the project and wants me to head it. Manager wants Partnering to head it in meetings, but me to do all the heavy work. Since me heading it would mean I'd be promoted to senior level. Partnering is trying really hard to get everyone the best solution, without actually heading the project. I'm trying to head the project but only if I get the promotion to senior level. Manager is out till Leaving's last day next week. So I have a couple days…

Partnering is trying really hard to get everyone the best solution, without actually heading the project. I'm trying to head the project but only if I get the promotion to senior level. Manager is out till Leaving's last day next week. So I have a couple days to figure out my response. I want this project, but want my work to be respected as well.
