Have you ever told a company you were going to hand in a “2 week” notice if they didn’t give you a raise because you have another job offer with higher pay?? But you really didn’t lol

So a guy I work with went to the branch manager and basically said this in hopes of getting a raise, knowing he was full of shit and had no other offer. They pretty much told him “see ya then” and went on about their day lol. The look on his face after them calling his bluff was priceless. At that point, I personally would have to leave after that. I almost felt bad, but it was pretty funny. We laughed about it together. In doing something like that you'd better be prepared to leave if they call your bluff. Least I would/have when doing something similar. I couldn't stay somewhere I wasn't valued at least enough to even consider trying to keep me.
