I work at FedEx Ground and went from making $21/hr all of last year on our “surge pay” to making $17.5/hr right now in 2022. Not to mention last year I was practically begged to stay longer, come in earlier, etc. and I found my job to be very reliable in demand for work.
However, now we’re still running the same amount of volume a sort (volume = number of packages) yet the hours are shorter, the pay is lower, and they expect us to work harder.
I mean, what the fuck?? I can’t even ask to clock in early, and they currently are scheduling me for 20 hours a week. I can’t even pay my BILLS at that rate.
So I go search for other jobs right? When talking to friends and where they work they’re getting the EXACT same pay and hour cut at the SAME time. UPS is dropping WorldPort pay from $21 to $18 as well and the hours are also falling.
What the fuck are we supposed to do? Lay down and starve? How the fuck can anyone live like this?
