Hello guys. Just had an argument with my HR.
I work in Malaysia. It’s a Singapore company but they have a team in Malaysia.
My fault today was only that I joked with a colleague and that joke contained the word “fuck” and because my colleagues opened up to me instead of the HR (they have been ignored lol)
I listened to everyone’s problem as they like to open up to me due to my bubbly character and I always ask everyone if they are okay or if they need anything (that I can get for them like a nice cup of tea/coffee or sweets) when they feel unwell.
So people had been telling me their issues. This company doesn’t allow us to work from home despite Malaysia had made a rule that we can request and give reasoning, and companies must give reasonable reasoning on why they can’t accept. So my colleagues have issues and I care and some colleagues are quitting due to the strict work from office arrangements.
Real scenario :
A coworker’s husband gets involved in an accident, she was there for 3 years in the company. She only requested for 6 months work from home and it’s denied. Her husband is paralyzed and she is the top worker.
Next, a coworker’s mother has stiff shoulders and she can’t even wear a bra and required my colleagues help, just a small daily help like showering, wearing clothes… etc.. and it’s rejected.
Many coworkers told me their issues, some has breastfeeding babies and some stay outside of the state and travel is expensive.
It’s my first week here and I told them maybe I can write another letter because my intentions is just to help them (they have helped themselves but it doesn’t work)
Today I joked with a colleague and we said the word “Fuck” in the joke but I got a warning letter lol…. I told the HR I have initiated the joke so everything is on me not my colleague so please don’t give him anything. She told me “Don’t tell me what to do with my job” and in next sentence she told me to take accountability on my words. Funny right? I did lol!! Hahahahah.
So next was that I had to sneeze on my desk and apparently it’s not allowed.. due to Covid…. Who the fuck can run to the toilet and sneeze? Who can predict? So it’s my first week, I’m venturing to another job. Fuck this company. Once I quit I will write a review on Glassdoor. I just wanted to be nice and naturally I care about everyone that I work with but it’s a problem to them lol.
