Hi,
I'm currently working for a big tech company in France, and I have an internal job change planned for April 1st.
However I was also prospecting for other jobs in parallel and got an offer that i'm seriously considering. Nothing wrong with my future position either.
If i resign now I'll probably be blacklisted in my current company. Also I'll have to endure the legal 3 months (yes it's 3 months in France for engineers) before I leave. The company is big enough so that HR and managers are dehumanized AF. The engineers are also in high demand in the area.
Did you find yourself in a similar position ? What would you do :
- use the job offer as leverage ? but I haven't started my new position, so it's not the best timing
- go full scorched earth and resign. these people aren't my friends.
- refuse the offer, start my new position and maybe re-apply to the other company later
