Long story short, currently in disciplinary dispute with my work. I got this disciplinary because I had been given another one for having COVID (I work in an incredibly front facing job) and not following the procedure that had changed just 2 weeks before, and that sucked all my morale out. I'd been at the company for 3 years, and had been progressing well. When that happened 2 months ago, I looked (and successfully found) a new job. Start date for that isn't determined yet while I wait for references and criminal background check to come through, I expect no problems.
I had the disciplinary meeting today, and successfully made my case they hadn't followed protocol with setting up the meeting. They are now waiting for me to find a representative to show up to my meeting and be available for it. The problem I have is I didn't remember it had to be a trade union worker, or someone within the company so I've boxed myself into a corner now and I'm looking for a creative solution.
Short of paying £519 to form my own union, the only other idea I had was make one in another country or something else wildly outside the box. …any suggestions?
The two extra caveats to this are I'm currently fully paid on suspension, and I still have what I'd call “the asshole cards”, saying I'm ill, moving a meeting 5 days due to representative being unavailable etc. Coupled with not contacting for a few days, as I am struggling to find my representative available obviously, I think I have another couple of weeks in me but I'd love to hear any other tips and tricks people may have.
Edit: spelling!
