Holy shit heb is ACTUAL hell.

I just had my first shift as a curbie and here was my experience; First off, before even getting my first shift I had to call in THREE TIMES to speak to a manager to see when i start. First time there was no manager, they said they would take my number so the manager could call me tomorrow. Manager completely forgot. The day after I called in early and actually was able to talk to a manager. Second, The tests you have to do before starting is insane. I've already done my TABC and Food handlers, but hey! First off, before even getting my first shift I had to call in THREE TIMES to speak to a manager to see when i start. Second, The tests you have to do before starting is insane. I've already done my TABC and Food handlers, but hey! That means nothing to heb. You have to get HEB branded ones for some reason. Which both take 2 hours.

Third, on the day of my shift. You get NO bathroom breaks, I asked about bathroom breaks to my manager. She aggressively sighed and said “I guess you can go to the bathroom, but you have to be back soon since we don't really do those” which is just insane. You're also going from -60 degrees to 98 degrees every 8 minutes, idk if it's like this for everyone. But holy shit I almost passed out like an hour in, I felt so sick and nauseous. And just fyi I'm getting paid 12$/hr.

What are my thoughts? Well I left an hour in because I was on the verge of passing out, also I just want to say that I actually applied to be an in store shopper, But i got this job instead.

The irony of it all is that their badges say “Because people matter”. my fucking ass dude.
