Hostile work environment

Hey all, I live in Illinois and left my job that was not supportive of my mental health nor honoring a request to transfer due to how unsafe I felt. I left at the beginning of the year because I was being forced to work at a location with someone who is considered 3rd party contact with a no contact order I have. They are best friends with said person and was constantly snap chatting or talking about them at work. This made me VERY uncomfortable so I emailed my HR department. My manager pulled me in and told me HR basically said to suck it up and stay at the location because they didn’t see any issue. I walked out right after I was told that, that day. I live in Illinois and left my job that was not supportive of my mental health nor honoring a request to transfer due to how unsafe I felt. I left at the beginning of the year because I was being forced to work at a location with someone who is considered 3rd party contact with a no contact order I have. They are best friends with said person and was constantly snap chatting or talking about them at work. This made me VERY uncomfortable so I emailed my HR department.

My manager pulled me in and told me HR basically said to suck it up and stay at the location because they didn’t see any issue. I walked out right after I was told that, that day. I ended up jobless for about 4 months. The corporate locations interviewed me and I got into 2 interviews but for some reason I got emails back saying I didn’t fit the job (10 years in experience with said company with a majority of it being in management) I applied for a regular position and this bothered me as I liked the company, just not the franchise I worked for. Recently I got a new job and a friend I made there told me I could ask for unemployment for the months I was out of work due to “a hostile work environment”.

To clarify, I emailed my HR department a week prior to me walking demanding a transfer or I would be resigning as my mental health and safety was on the line. So I have this in writing along with their decision. Do I have a case since it’s been 4 months since I left? Or is this just water under the bridge?
