Owners and managers often just slice a few hours here and there to make labor goals. I've been at this place since February of last year and recently discovered that even though my hours were cut, another employee was making overtime. This makes zero sense because I am very knowledgeable and certified in my industry. So I did what any reasonable person would do and used my unappreciated skill set and experience to land a GM position at our only rival. I gave notice Jan 1st. They don't have details of my new employment as far as I am aware. And they are still cutting my hours more during my last week of employment. Plus, they scheduled me one day after the two week notice, which would take my one remaining day off before I start a job that will likely necessitate being on call until I sort out my new situation and feel comfortable to not be present on site. I kind of just don't want to go in at all. They schedule me 7 hours instead of 8 or 9 to avoid giving me a lunch break. My current immediate.manager even waved his hand and said, “yeah, yeah, OSHA and all that…”
Tldr; I think I have the next week off because I quit.
