Housing and Urban Development Fail in Trying to Bring Back Ppl to Office

Last Friday, HUD “leadership” sends an email saying that to be approved for flex-work after this pay period, we needed to have a new request approved by Monday morning. Cue shit hitting fan. So, in a meeting with a HUD official, she is saying that part of the reason we have to come back to work is because the economy needs our support. Thankfully, the fucking hero of a union rep was there to say, “Yes, the President said that in the State of the Union Address, but unless he signs a government order, our contract is in effect, and no one has to work in-office more than 2 days a pay period.” First, thank you, union guy. Second, when did buying shit from specific companies become part of my job requirements? In doing some math, they basically want, like, 20% of our annual income for buying bagels and lattes…

Second, when did buying shit from specific companies become part of my job requirements? In doing some math, they basically want, like, 20% of our annual income for buying bagels and lattes and gallons of gas.

Third, I was working 80% from home, pre-pandemic. The day I get called in for 100% in the office is the day I use some of my 5 weeks of vacation and 10 weeks of sick time while aggressively shopping for a new position.
