Last Friday, HUD “leadership” sends an email saying that to be approved for flex-work after this pay period, we needed to have a new request approved by Monday morning.
Cue shit hitting fan.
So, in a meeting with a HUD official, she is saying that part of the reason we have to come back to work is because the economy needs our support.
Thankfully, the fucking hero of a union rep was there to say, “Yes, the President said that in the State of the Union Address, but unless he signs a government order, our contract is in effect, and no one has to work in-office more than 2 days a pay period.”
First, thank you, union guy.
Second, when did buying shit from specific companies become part of my job requirements? In doing some math, they basically want, like, 20% of our annual income for buying bagels and lattes and gallons of gas.
Third, I was working 80% from home, pre-pandemic. The day I get called in for 100% in the office is the day I use some of my 5 weeks of vacation and 10 weeks of sick time while aggressively shopping for a new position.
