Teacher pay in the US is comically low. But I feel entirely unable to help in any meaningful way. When we have local or state ballot initiatives for school, they are always for amorphous “improvements” or “mental health” or “building new facilities” and the like. It never seems to make a difference in teacher pay. How can I help most? Is teacher pay generally a state issue? A local issues? A school board issue? What is the most direct means of supporting higher pay for teachers?
