I am a teenager, and three weeks ago, I got my first ever “real” job (I also ref youth soccer so I don't really need the money), which pays slightly above minimum wage in my state (10.50$/hr). My parents pressured me into the job to get work experience, and I originally thought I would like it but three weeks in, it turns out it is taking a significant amount of my time and I am not enjoying it. I asked my parents how I should quit, and they said I should give 2 weeks of notice, but the job is quite honestly miserable, takes up too much of my summer, and I don't want to waste any more of it working. How should I tell my employer respectfully tomorrow I don't want to return? (I still would like to be on good terms with this establishment, and I respect my manager as a person, even though I am not enjoying the job) This is my first time having to do something like this and I'm nervous and don't know what to do or how to do it, and am receiving no support from my parents who want me to continue the job.
