How do I stop being angry and resentful over the end of my secondment?

I work in the UK and have been working for my job for 2 years and a half. This is in a hospital. My original contract was a fixed term contract, and based on performance, it was renewed and I was given an interview to turn it into a permanent role. This is a graduate entry-level role. I was then interviewed and seconded successfully into a mid-management role. This role was also a secondment and the fixed term was extended. While on the role, I interviewed for a secondment in my team to a manager role. I got the job and it was a secondment for 11 months. I have worked extremely hard and was praised for both the quality of my work and my work ethic, as well as having an extremely positive appraisal and feedback throughout the time I have been working here.

A few weeks ago my manager called me and notified that based on a management decision, my secondment would be finishing on the 31st of March and I would be going back to my graduate entry level role. Meanwhile, some of the staff I have trained would be on mid-management and management level, respectively. When asked if it was performance related or anything of the sort, all they said that the role would be changing and becoming more “technical”. Yet, staff members come to me to resolve their technical issues and no issues relating to my technical knowledge have been brought up in any appraisals, 1:2:1s. In fact, they have all been great and super positive, supporting the fact that they are happy with my performance.

My manager has now started to take away projects with me and reassign them. He has also asked me to start working with the new graduates to be retrained on my original role as process have supposedly change. Even when I try to ask for assignments or things to do, he tells me that no, he won't assign things to me until he's confident I know the processes, yet I was the one who designed, put them in place and trained staff? Yet in the meantime, and while taking responsibilities away from me he wants me to help him “upskill” my colleagues, while I get stuck in the shits and I sink more into depression.

I have grown extremely angry and resentful towards my team and my manager. I feel betrayed, that all the positive feedback were lies and unsure about myself. I have had 2 interviews for upper management positions, but unfortunately and despite being a finalist for the roles, in both occasions they went people who worked in the companies before. I cannot leave as I have bills to pay and rent, and I am applying like crazy for new upper management roles but my fear is that come the 31st of March, I get demoted back to my original role and I find myself having to explain how I went from management to a entry level position.
