Hey everyone,
I don’t know if this is the best subreddit to post this on, but I am going to keep it shortish.
The bottom line is I work in customer service, at a local store —which dealing nicely w salty customers is a norm and something expected from us to do—and if you do not do that you get lectured.
Today a blonde girl and a boy walked up to the front to order.
The girl said while talking on her earbuds, “can I get a caramel Iced coffee..” and she continued, “with milk…” Hence I input the stuff she said; then BOOM she BURSTS OUT at me saying, “are u dumb I did not say milk I was talking on the earbuds,” and she turned to look back at the guy examining me, “See? they always put milk in my order!”, which he looked pretty much as confused as I was. (She said other mean words to me which I don’t want to get into) Afterwards, the guy told her to chill out, it was just an order.
Then the girl glared at me angrily. As a result, I honestly did not say shit coz they were my age and from my school and I was not in the mood to start a beef.
As mentioned above I tried to put on my straight face and paused, then said, “what is the issue here?” Suddenly when the girl saw me calm and relaxed, whereas she was all worked up and red, she felt awkward and shied away.
Finally, when I gave her an order she tries to smile apologetically to make up for her attitude. Also to be clear I am used to people yelling at me, but I draw the line at a person my age throwing a tantrum at me when I can’t defend myself but stay calm and sweep it under the rag.
