I work for a local pizza place in a college town. When I started a year ago I loved it, most of the coworkers became awesome friends, plus the job is pretty easy/fun. Recently a lot of coworkers graduated/left so the culture has kinda taken a massive swing. Lately a few of the new hires have been dropping racial and anti-lgbt slurs. Ive reached out to my manager about it and asked that I not be put on schedule with them (Im black and queer) but other than that I’ve just been ignoring it. Now, I got a phone call from our newer manager recently. He basically said “We talked to them, they are very sorry and we’re gonna have them apologize. What can they do to earn your forgiveness? We want to be able to schedule everyone together and keep things civil.”
I guess I’m mostly asking what other people would do in this situation because at this point I think im gonna quit soon. The manager has been scheduling these guys into more favorable shifts even though they dont do jack shit at work. I just worked 5 closings in a row and I’m over it 🙁
