I need to rant because I don't understand how someone can be so cruel…
My wife works as a dental assistant in a private practice that was recently purchased by a new Dentist owner. Said owner decided to close down the office for 2 weeks so he could take a vacation in Hawaii.
The owner is not paying my wife or any of the other dental assistants for these two weeks. My wife works 35 hours a week so she is not considered full-time, and thus has no paid time off to make up for this time. I myself do not make too much money (about 23$ an hour) and is not enough to cover for her NOT GETTING A PAYCHECK because some rich jackass decided he wanted a Hawaii vacation. We have two kids and live paycheck to paycheck and have maxed out our Credit Cards.
When my wife asked if he would be able to cover for the time off he shut her down and said thats just how private practice is.
How is this legal?
