How to convince myself to take the plunge?

I have a decent plan in place, which consists of essentially selling everything I have acquired this far, and moving to an area that is cheaper and that I truly enjoy and envy. You can read my previous posts. However my concern is this, I’ve been so conditioned to be as aggressive as I can in life in order to make it. For example, the “smarter” thing to do would be to simple rent my current house and collect roughly $2500 per month instead of selling it outright. Also people will argue that I shouldn’t but my next house in a cheaper area outright. I should have a mortgage to maximize my tax advantage, and I could use that money for other higher yielding assets. Blah blah blah. My question is, how do I convince myself that living a more simple life, with let’s say no mortgage, is what I…

My question is, how do I convince myself that living a more simple life, with let’s say no mortgage, is what I need in life. I know life is short and if I can live without debt and without as much stress that’s going to give me the life I want .

My plan is to work, but as my own boss and on my own schedule, let’s say part time.
