How to respond former(?) boss

So I worked for 1 week (3shifts) at a job that I liked better than my other food service jobs but it the pay was unsurprisingly shit (minimum wage + like 5-10$ in tips per shift). Last time I spoke to him was Monday morning to let him know I was running late. I also probably jumped the gun letting him know I was considering moving a few hours away due to a break up and his response was to say he didn’t think he’d wanna keep the position for someone so unreliable and condescend to me about not being greedy or wasting peoples time. I texted him an address and asked him to send me my check there and I assumed that would be the last I’d hear from him. But he’s just tried to call and sent me a text asking me to call him. I just wanted to ask advice before I respond. I’m pretty sure I will just say I need our communication to be in writing from now on so he can email me. Being in customer service Im used to being treated like shit, especially from employers, but I wanted to ask you guys how you would respond in my situation.
