Certain clusters of business leaders in corporate world are fucked up. I have held management roles since I started in the workforce at 18. I currently earn a low-six figure salary in a F100 co. and am still under 30 years old. I have experienced and witnessed ‘people leaders’ exploit and manipulate human capital with fear, intimidation, lies, and myriad deceptive schemes to control and dominate. It’s almost like a cult; sometimes they use cryptic words and messages to communicate their intentions. I am impressed by the amount of twisted energy and effort that these people use to accomplish their objectives—sometimes I wonder how awesome organizations could be if these people used their strengths for ethical and professional strategies.
Many victims do not have the slightest clue they’re being abused. Most do not have the education, training or experience to identify these toxic behaviors and report them to the appropriate personnel.
How do you guys survive in a toxic work culture like this?
