I worked as a paramedic for a local hospital and there has been positions opened since last year. My friend just passed the licensing examination and I told her to apply to the hospital. She applied and they really liked her. My friend has never gotten into any kind of trouble, has her degree and overall, a wonderful person. They offered her the job and she did all the HR paperwork that was needed.
She was contacted by the background company and gave them the information that was needed. Everything looked great and she was very excited to start the job. Her father passed away and she asked HR if she could move her start date. HR had no issue with moving the start date. She was supposed to start yesterday and when she didn't show up for the shift, I found out that HR had called and told her there was an error with the background check and they had to deny her the position.
I decided today to quit my job and my supervisor was not thrilled with loosing another person.
