I work construction, project to project.
I had a foreman who volunteered our crew to work on a Sunday, total kiss ass to the super.
we find this out end of a 12 hour day Saturday 7pm.
Sunday noon, if you guys hurry up and finish up to this point we can go home early for 10 hours. it was a chunk of work, and rather than finishing up at 5pm, a 10 hour day, with our slave driven effort to make that level of production to “leave early” we got it done by 4pm. Start cleaning up, and foreman says, we are going to keep going and make it a 12 hour day. our typical is already 10 hours a day 6 days a week. We are on the road living out of a hotel, and have laundry and need rest. normally a Sunday isn't so bad and welcome because living on the road, and in my industry, we often pay our own hotel, the over time is the money we get to take home, as every penny is spent on the mortgage back home and the hotel living on the road. but this was the 3rd Sunday in a row. The crew lost respect for our foreman and you could see it in the production the rest of the job. Because he wanted to be such a suck ass to his boss, he had total disregard for the crew. The shitty thing was he was part of the crew on previous jobs and we all liked him very much, but he was a horrible boss.
