For context my sister boyfriend and I work at the same gas station. I only pick up winter hours since the concrete company i work for cant give me enough hours.
Last week i had to call in due to the passing of my bosses father. I called in over 36+ hours before my shift. My boss for the concert company asked if I could run everything while he is gone. I wouldn't say no as that would have put us behind since we had three days of good weather in a row.
The boss at my part time job said alright my shift was covered. Sunday The day of my “covered” shift she called me asking if i could come in. Luckily I rearranged my schedule and my schedule to make it work. All while im doing the job of 3 people for my full time job.
Monday rolls around and the part time boss is sick and same with Tuesday. Wednesday she leaves early and she doesn't care that my boyfriend is sick at work but makes him stay. Today rolls around still my boyfriend is sick. He woke up getting sick and having restroom issues.
He talked to the boss and she said he cant close early and has to come in. He closes at midnight by himself, he asked to close at 10 considering its not really busy after 8:30. I think he might have covid with all his symptoms but problem is he has already been in contact with lots of people.
He is getting tested tomorrow. I told him to put his two weeks in. We were around other employees as i said this. Fun y enough the other two employees have interviews in the next few days.
Is there anything he should do to protect himself if he does have covid and knowingly worked while not feeling good. Even though he told the boss about it the first day?
Edit: To add this is just the tip of the iceberg of bs we deal with.
