Earlier this week I interviewed and later got the job to work at a gravel & sand supplier. I would basically be driving dozer and 30 ton trucks to pick up and drop off materials at the site. It pays $14 hr and time and a half after 40 hrs. The schedule is 10 hr days Mon-Fri. During the interview I asked about licenses and certificates for the machinery and was told I wouldn't need them because it's off road. I would have a 90 day evaluation and then at my year evaluation I could get a raise and at minimum it's .25
Today I went to a interview at a pest control company. The Indeed page said $15 but during the interview I found out you start at $13 then after a week you test for your License then you get bumped to $14, couple months later you take another license test and you get bumped to $15. He told me that he's got guys who've been there a year and already making $20 a hour. The schedule here would be 3 day 12 hr shifts and then 4 days off. Even though it's only 36 hours I would be paid for 40.
I'm having a tough time deciding which one I should chose and go to Monday morning.
Should I prioritize more money now or more opportunities for raises?
Edit:more info
•The sand supplier told me I would be required to work Saturdays but 70% of the time they don't
•Currently the sand supplier has only 7 employees so some have to operate multiple machines (fill the truck, then drive the truck etc.)
•immediately upon hire at the pest control I would be able to swap shifts.
