So, I work for an automaker. They break down vacation and personal days into 2 groups. June eligible and December eligible. It just means your personal and vacation days renew in either month. June eligible people have to use their days by May 31.
Work is rough right now. There is a huge turnover rate with supervisors due to being overworked and underpaid. We don't have a clock in system. Supervisors take attendance and pay you in the co.puter system. Due to the turnover rate we have a lot of pay issues.
Legacy workers who get pensions have allowed the company to overload jobs and then use their seniority to get off those jobs and leave Temps who get no benefits to do said jobs.
The pandemic have opened a lot of eyes. These new people coming in don't kill themselves for this shit. Rightfully so. They prioritize themselves over the job and that is triggering legacy workers.
Cut to Friday. Use it or just get paid for the days you have left. Employees had been trying to put in for their days and getting turned down. Most said fuck it. We had over 280 people missing for the shift Friday.
Legacy workers got on Facebook and talked so much shit. Calling us lazy and scammers for calling off. Alot of us have intermittent fmla. The work around we use for being denied the use of our days was to just fmla for Friday and then get paid for the day once they pay out our unused personal days next week. They don't understand we have nothing to strain ourselves for. You bust your ass and get injured and the company forces you to sue them for workman's comp. Supervisors use and abuse you. Legacy workers try to son you. Why should we care if you have trouble running a shift? You block us from overtime. The people who would have showed up for the money, you told them they would get in trouble if they just came in.
We are getting to the point where we want to sue the company and the union in a class action for all our grievances.
