So a few weeks ago I took a part time gig at a company I used to work at. They hired me on as supervisor of the crew I used to work with. The crew was one of the main reasons I came back. Management had high expectations of me turning things around on day 1, my style was more working with everyone and retraining them individually into better habits and routines.
Well last week, the entire crew put in their 2 weeks. Not because of me, but because of shitty upper management one day came in on my day off for the first time in 2+ years to basically tell them what a shitty job they were doing.
I’ve lost all motivation to be there at this point. I know with their reputation in the area and their inability to be competitive to surrounding employers, I won’t have a full crew for months.
And honestly, I have 0 loyalty to the company, just the crew I worked with because we were all friends. When covid hit and restrictions were in place, basically at the end of my shift on a Friday they told me they will call me when they need me, without warning. (I worked graveyard shift.) When they were ready to re-open a few months later, I got a phone call on a Thursday and said I had to report in Monday morning for morning shifts or turn in my resignation immediately. At that time I was working mornings at a different company as I had previously and they knew about it.
So next Friday the last of my crew leaves. Do I give them a 2 week notice? Do I just give them a 5 day notice? Does it matter?
