I am a waitress at a small but famouse place in my town. I was there during covid and all the restrictions during the pandemie amd didnt leave. We all were struggling pretty hard. I am doing overtime without complaining (it is paid but getting at 4 or 6 am to home is a huge different with a child that is in kindergarden). I am paid the lowest you can get in Germany but i can keep tipps.
At the beginning of the year i tried to take vacation when my child is not in kindergarden (beginning at 18th of july) . My husband doesnt have to work in that time either. So we could have some quality time together. My boss told me in february that this is not possible because (she is almost 58 and has no kids to take care off) my coworker send her vacation plans earlier in and her boyfriend just get in those weeks freetime. This coworker will go on vacation with the mother of my boss and i cant spend time with my 3 year old during her summer break.
