I just want to post that here.
Since 4 years I am working for a worldwide corporation that produces and sells medical instruments. The demand they have on employees is high but so is the salary and overall I think the corporation is doing good for the employees based on what I can see on rating sides like glassdoor.com.
But I had the luck to start in a team that was managed by a textbook of all traits of a malignant manager. Calling us during leisure time, weekend, holidays, sick leave, one person even had to write a report while lying in hospital having covid. Squeezing us out for information she can present to her management. Our team is completely separated from all other departments as a result of year manipulation (other departments always are presented to new employees as lazy etc.). We have no teambuilding events and no solidarity. Shae gave us tasks we weren’t supposed to do and never listened and blamed it on us when it failed. She lied to stakeholders and blamed us. She requested to not write over hours because it looks weird when we have an audit. I can go on ad nauseam.
I wanted to quit already in 2020 but, you know covid happened and the 100% home office helped masking the toxic environment. Until we had to go back to the office, even when all other departments had agreements about 40% office, 60% home office (but she was at home most of the time anyway). She said we have to go to the office because its easier to work there, completely ignoring the fact we were at home for 1,5 years having record revenues.
When in September of last year a new colleague complained at the workers union, he got laid off 6 weeks later after she found out who filed the complaint. That’s when I decided to neatly record all of her violations by audio-recording all her phone calls, meetings, saving emails and talking to other team members.
I got a hold of 3 which all told me where at the edge of a burn out. So we kept playing the long game and now, after months of recording, we handed all the evidence to HR and workers union and on the same day all 4 of us quit.
It caused a huge dumpster fire which ended up in an investigation, many people got interviewed and she completely lost it. Then she went silent for two weeks and another manager took over. Last Friday we saw her bringing her laptop and company car keys in and all of her company network accounts have been suspended.
That was a painful process but it worked. I have a new job and will start later this year, I need a break, 2 other team members will stay in the company because to got an offer and the other one has a new job as well.
Edit: Sorry for my english, its not my mother tongue.
