So yeah, I’m an assistant at a practice (being vague of course), and I asked to leave early today since we didn’t have any other appointments and at that point no one else could book our last slots.
Asked the office manager to leave, she states, “just don’t complain about your hours.”
Background, I couldn’t book my dog walker for today and not trying to invite a rando into my apt last minute. I’ve also complained about unfair scheduling and hours previously (I’m working every Sat for months on end), and wanting to be involved on surgery days, only happens on Mon/Tues, which I rarely work. I’m missing out on a lot of learning opportunities when I’m not working these two days, even if I’m not skilled enough to support surgery. Also, Saturdays are shorter days, so yeah, I’m losing out on hours which I stated previously.
Yeah. That’s about it. I’m thinking we should have a sit down tomorrow to discuss further. Any advice welcome, but I’m pretty sure I know what needs to be said, not quitting, yet.
