I’m just a young girl having my first job at a clothes company. I’ve been there for almost a year, and I’ve had a great time, since I’m able to listen to podcasts while doing my thing.
The thing is, I’ve gotten very sick after lockdown was over, and the state asks everyone to stay home if you’re feeling sick.
Because I’ve been so sick, they called me for a meeting with my boss and HR – both very scary ladies. I have anxiety so it made me incredibly nervous.
They don’t trust me when I tell them I’ve actually been sick, and proceeds to tell me about the company’s values. Mostly that everyone needs to respect each other and so on. She then blames me and says I haven’t been respectful and that my sickness caused someone else great work.
I know this isn’t true, because they barely have enough work for me to do on a daily basis. They actually gave me less work hours.
Then they proceed to tell me that I’m slow and always tired and doesn’t do the work. Now this is just a “feeling” they have and can’t back it up with any data. I know I work hard to make them happy, so that really shocked me.
They just don’t believe me at all and once when I had to get tested for Covid in the morning (and I told them 2 days before) they text me the same day asking me where I am. And when I get back they think it took to long and even checked my transport options.
I completely broke down at the meeting because i feel like I’ve been accused of something I haven’t done. Is this okay? And what do I do in this situation? We are going to have another meeting in 3 weeks.
Sorry if it’s confusing, English isn’t my first language:)…
