I broke my bond and now I need to pay $1000 to get my relieving letter and I’m worried whether my new company will get to know about this!

5 months ago, I left my company and broke their bond agreement. Ever since then the company has been asking me to pay $1000 for breaching the bond and they haven’t shared my experience letter as I haven’t paid the amount yet. Also I may have been blacklisted by that company(not confirmed). Meanwhile I’m now close to getting an offer from another company and they have asked for a reference check and the total tenure served at my previous company and I’m worried whether my old company denies my employment and refuses to share my details to the new company due to the pending settlement of the bond amount. I’m quite stressed out about this and I badly don’t wanna lose this job at any cost! Can anyone please share their take on this!
