This is a policy that I think is fine in the case of an employee is caught doing illegal stuff or harassing someone or being bigoted, but that’s not how it’s used! People shouldn’t be able to be fired for posting about work struggles on their personal social media. Companies are basically forcing workers to conform to a standard outside of work that they’re not paying them for. Fuck that.
Edit: obviously if you have hate speech on your personal social media then that is different. I’m talking about things like posting in support of movements like BLM or calling out people who don’t wear masks. If you’re basically admitting to being a Nazi on your Facebook and are linked to your workplace then yeah, fuck you I hope you do get fired.
